Co-production

What is co-production and why does it matter?

Co-production means working as equals with people who have lived experience to design and improve services. It values the lived experience and knowledge of everyone involved, ensuring services meet real needs and reflect asylum and immigration challenges. More than just feedback, co-production shares power equally, allowing clients and professionals to make decisions together. This leads to better, more effective services shaped by the voices of those who know what works best.

Here are some of our clients talking about the benefits of doing co-production at Migrant Help for them. Please have a listen!

What is Migrant Help doing?

Migrant Helps Co-production Strategy

At Migrant Help, we empower our clients to be active partners in shaping the services they receive through our five-year Co-production Strategy.

Our Co-production Team works alongside staff and clients to design and improve services, ensuring that client voices influence our work. We coordinate four Lived Experience Advisory Panels (LEAPs) within our Asylum, Modern-Day Slavery, and Resettlement services. These panels, made up of past and present clients, develop services, review policies, and impact decision-making. LEAP representatives also sit on a National LEAP, working in partnership with our Senior Management Team.

Through this co-production, we’ve shaped our organisational strategy and are continuing to shift our culture, giving clients an equal say in our services and activities.

Here are some clips of our LEAP members talking about what difference the LEAP can make to Migrant Help.
