Migrant Help has supported people affected by displacement and exploitation for more than 60 years. We strongly believe that everybody deserves to feel safe and have their human rights protected.

Migrant Help’s Schools Programme is an opportunity to engage with teachers and pupils across the UK to help encourage critical thinking and compassion whilst also empowering young minds

Our aim is not to tell young people what to think, but to give them the space and tools to think for themselves, to ask questions, and to judge people by their actions, not by where they come from or what they look like. The workshops are educational, not political, and have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from teachers and students alike.

The programme has made a real difference. One standout example came from a student who suggested a way to support classmates facing language barriers: placing pictures on classroom doors to help everyone easily identify which subject is taught in each room. It’s small, simple solutions like this that embody the heart of the school’s programme – inspiring young people to embrace compassion and empathy.

By visiting schools and delivering workshops and assemblies, the programme aims to dispel myths and encourage thought and discussion around how to be more welcoming to people from outside of the UK. Since its inception, the total cost of the program has been an average of less than £42k per year over three years, which includes staff salary, communications, and events. It is funded by our reserves through donations.

Migrant Help is proud of the positive impact our programmes have across the UK. We are confident in the transparency of how we operate, and we will continue to stand by our values, no matter how others try to distort them.
