“Andrew Billany is leaving his post as the Chief Executive of Migrant Help on 20 September, following the successful mobilisation of the new Advice, Issue Reporting and Eligibility contract with the Home Office to support asylum seekers in the UK. The Board of Migrant Help wish Andrew well in his future career.” David Noble, Vice Chair of the Board of Migrant Help

Andrew says: “I have loved working for Migrant Help and pay particular tribute to the extraordinary and outstanding group of people who work here, and for the people we serve. In my career, I have developed an enduring passion for public and community services, and have been proud to continue that through the fantastic work done by Migrant Help across the UK.

"As we move into a new phase of our strategy, I have made the difficult choice to move on to take on new opportunities, and to free the space for someone else to take Migrant Help forward over the long term. The time is right to make the change and Migrant Help is in good shape, with great people at its core.”

The Board have appointed Caroline O’Connor (Deputy Chief Executive/Chief Operating Officer) as the interim Chief Executive of Migrant Help, while a recruitment process to fill the permanent Chief Executive vacancy is undertaken.

David Noble, Vice Chair of the charity expressed his gratitude to Caroline for stepping in to take this interim role at such an important time. He said: “The Trustees of Migrant Help are very pleased that Caroline has accepted this appointment, which will provide the charity with the necessary continuity and strength of leadership of the executive team at this important point. We have every confidence in Caroline to continue to deliver successful outcomes for the clients of Migrant Help.”
