Volunteering

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!

Why volunteer with us? 

You will join hundreds of dedicated people across the UK working together to protect survivors of exploitation and people affected by displacement, treating them with respect and enabling them to thrive as individuals. 

Your time will complement our existing services with new energy and ideas. You will be able to gain new skills and experience, meet new people and make meaningful connections, ultimately giving back to marginalised communities.

What we offer: 

  • A meaningful and rewarding experience 
  • Space for you to gain new skills and knowledge 
  • References for any future employer and/or educator 
  • On-going support, regular check-ins and supervision sessions
  • Reasonable travel and lunch expenses reimbursed 
  • Comprehensive and role-specific training packages
  • Monthly volunteer newsletters
  • Opportunities for feedback, helping to shape our volunteer programme going forward

What we expect from you: 

  • To undergo a DBS check 
  • To complete the relevant induction and training sessions
  • Adhere to our confidentiality and safeguarding procedures  
  • To uphold Migrant Help’s values
  • Be open and understanding of different customs, values and beliefs 
  • Commit to a minimum of 6 months and agreed times
