During Refugee Week we received 131 messages of welcome, here’s what we did with them.

To mark 20 years of celebrating the contributions of refugees, the organisers of Refugee Week created 20 simple acts that everyone could do to show their support for refugee communities.

As a partner of Refugee Week, we took on responsibility for Simple Act number 7 and encouraged people to write and send us a message of welcome for a refugee or asylum seeker. Throughout the week we loved opening our inboxes to find kind, encouraging and, sometimes, funny messages that had been sent in by members of the public, community groups and schools.

We received an incredible 131 messages which we have used to create welcome posters that are being displayed in all our offices for the people we support.

You can download the posters we have created here and here.

In the last twenty years, Refugee Week has become a powerful and unique national celebration that brings communities together and has made a space for a different narrative about refugees.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Simple Acts. Your kind words are being read by and giving strength to those starting new lives in the UK.
