Christmas Shoe Box Appeal Volunteer

Location: Birmingham

Hours: One off commitment of a few hours

As a Christmas Shoebox appeal Volunteer, you will help us make December more festive by helping us prepare and pack gifts to thousands of people seeking asylum across West Midlands. This is a one-off volunteer opportunity, we ask you to commit to at least half a day (morning or afternoon). On 18th-22nd of December, volunteering will take place between 10am and 5pm, and between 9am and 1pm on 23 December.

What will you do?

• Complete induction on the day

• Adhere to Health and Safety procedures and policies

• Sorting, checking donated gifts for suitability e.g. age and packing into shoeboxes

• Organise and wrap gifts to later be distributed to our clients

• Volunteer as part of a diverse team

​What will you not be able to do?

• Volunteer with us if you are under 18

• Volunteer with clients directly

• Carry out casework tasks, or ongoing volunteer support as this is a one-off volunteering opportunity
