I have been a part-time client adviser in Wakefield since October 2014. My main duty is to help asylum seekers to complete support applications and deliver briefings.
Before joining Migrant Help I worked as an on-site interpreter at the Refugee Council in Leeds for over three years. Then I moved onto OLTAS (Own Language Telephone Advice Service) within the organisation for a year before I left in 2012.
I used to teach a diploma course to both local and international students at a further education college in Malaysia. The job gave me a great sense of satisfaction as one of my key tasks was to provide support to foreign students, especially those who had difficulties with their studies. Being able to help others gives me a sense of achievement.
I am very excited to be part of the Migrant Help team. There is still a lot to learn and I hope to have the opportunity to gain further knowledge and skills in the field.
